Magdalene's Light

Who are we and what do we do?

Magdalene's Light is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide women who are coming out of drug and alcohol programs a transitional home to transform their lives through Jesus Christ.

Many women are also dealing with sexual abuse and other hurts, habits and hang-ups.  We will be providing spiritual guidance, Bible studies, mentorship and daily life skills.  We will also work with these ladies to connect them with local businesses to find employment and develop good work ethics to allow them to succeed in their occupation of choice.

The dream of helping those who have come out of treatment for addictions and other issues is becoming a reality.

Effective the fall of 2022 these individuals took a step of faith and are moving forward with the dream of helping women be successful in society and not fall back into their previous destructive lifestyles.  Their goal is to have a house in Charles City, IA where women can develop personal, spiritual and business skills to help strengthen self-worth in Christ and succeed through Christ in a changing world.

Check out our new house!

Above you will see several photos from the new home of Magdalene's Light.  We will be renting this property for the time being and the remodel and updates are already in progress.  These are the before photos and we will be bringing you the after photos once they are complete.  Lots of man-hours have already gone into this house and we are no where close to being done.  If you would like to donate to the cause please check out our giving page here

  • Our home is located at 502 Ferguson St in Charles City, Iowa.

  • The kitchen will be supplied with the basics for the women to use: plates, bowls, cups, silverware, pots, pans, glasses, utensils, microwave, coffee pot, crockpots and more.  We will also provide the staples for baking and cooking.  Each woman within the program will be responsible to provide food for themselves or to share.

  • We hope to have several comfy chairs to sit on in this room and a small desk with a computer for the women to use.

  • This room is at the front of the house and though small will provide an area to watch TV, relax or visit.

  • This is one of the larger bedrooms on the second floor.  This room will house up to four women.

  • This is also one of the larger bedrooms and will house up to four women.

  • This is a smaller bedroom and we are still determining how this room will be utilized.  It may house a program manager at some point.

  • The back of the house includes a two stall garage and a small deck as well as additional parking.
